A creative and free spirit, Kayla serves as the Graphic Intern for the Social MVP. Currently a Senior at Western Michigan University, she is pursuing her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree with a focus in Graphic Design. Kayla is passionate about what she does and has dedicated the past four years to perfecting her craft and honing her skills. Outside of the classroom, Kayla has gained experience through internship positions at the Kalamazoo Country Club, Crain’s Detroit Business, and is the current Art Director for the student-run newspaper at WMU.

With roots in traditional art forms such as drawing and painting, it is only natural that some of Kayla’s Graphic Design strengths include illustrative elements. She specializes specifically in logo design, typography, illustration, and layout. Much of Kayla’s personal art and design style is influenced by major art movements such as Pop Art, Constructivism, and Art Nouveau. Kayla loves to challenge the status quo and experiment with unique ideas.

Outside of school and work, Kayla is a proponent for the community and loves to volunteer whenever she has the opportunity. She is a part of a community service-focused national honor society and does volunteer design work for student organizations. A Detroit native, Kayla hopes to ultimately use her skills to give back to her hometown community. She believes art can change lives, and the world and hopes to one day be able to use her art and design to inspire youth.
